Bjorn again

Yay! After crying for most of my flight on Monday, I am pleased to report that the second day is a charm. New York is cold, blustery and beautiful right now. It snowed tonight and I've never seen such incredible glisten on such dirty streets. Particularly amusing were the rats who scampered out of our way onto the sidewalk and into warmer apartments in the east village.

After dinner at a Japanese restaurant in the East Vill (and here I thought I wouldn't have good sushi for a long long time - wrong!!!) my new friends Jamie, Paloma and I, headed to the Bowery Ballroom, where I talked our way in to the Peter Bjorn & John show - totally sold out and over capacity - but as it turns out, New York bouncers appreciate honesty. My winning line? " Hi there, I'm not on the list, I don't know the band, I haven't faked a stamp on my wrist, and all I want is to see this show."

FYI - honesty in this town, works like a charm.

A vicarious pleasure for everyone who wishes they were in New York, and a walk down memory lane for those of us who made the leap (and back) long ago. Your blog made me smile...

You're going to own this town.
